ABOUT JENN

Jenn’s Jazz comes from deep in her being and background. Jenn’s father Ben Bussanich a classically trained pianist also played jazz stride piano professionally in his youth. From about 3 years old, Jenn was singing along with Ben, learning jazz phrasing and rhythms of the swing era, from singers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Pearl Bailey, Peggy Lee, Bing Crosby and The Mills Brothers. And soloists such as Louis Armstrong, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Fats Waller, Hoagy Carmichael and plenty of others.

Classically trained, Jenn’s passion for singing grew and studying privately she was soon competing in state and national eisteddfods and performing in various concerts and gigs locally in Perth. Travelling overseas and singing any vocal genre wanted wherever gigs were offered, Jenn finally settled back on the Australian east coast capital of Sydney, performing pop and jazz music as well as working as a radio music programmer, and presenter - eventually landing her own breakfast classical and jazz program.

Jenn Bussanich Hudson, vocal jazz artist

Today, Jenn’s voice comes rich and warm. Her multiple octave range presenting her audience with a clear vocal instrument, burnished with emotion and mature tones, sweet and savoury. Her extensive vocal jazz repertoire embraces jazz standards as well as many other popular numbers as reimaged by legendary arrangers now synonymous with a vocal jazz repertoire becoming hits for such icons as Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae and Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Chris Connor, Ruth Brown, Nina Simon and others.

Still located on Australia’s east coast, Jenn performs her relaxed engaging shows, sharing with her audience an easy camaraderie in the style of a jazz Supper-Club or lounge. Shows of an intimate declamatory style that informs on life and its ups and downs.
